rodeoRob turned 26 today… we went out on saturday to shoot some pool in celebration of the glorious day.

pre-celebration feast at Viet Garden

sharks:

jack took a big swim/hike on sunday. when we got home, he slept from 5pm to 10 at nite… it’s a rough life.

!! Danger !! Plutonium…

sheesh… i was at another machine this morning, trying to access themorningnews.org, instead i mistakenly typed in “www.morningnews.org” and was yanked into an alternate dimension of Domain Man. welcome to the world of the raving net-loon:

… simply amazing. i’m sure there’s more domains in there and more paranoia than you can shake a tin-foil hat at..

friday five… with 47 minutes left

the friday five

1. What is your favorite time of year? late summer/early fall

2. What is it about your favorite season that, well, makes it your favorite season? mmmm… 80 degree days, 70 degree nights. sleeping with the windows open. sundown at 9pm. cookouts. t-shirt and jeans weather. clear sinuses.

3. What is your least favorite time of year? Why? virginia winters. it’s ass-cold. cut-to-the-bone-cold. even once you get inside you still can’t warm up. all that and we get no snow. if i’m gonna freeze, i want SNOW!

4. Do you do anything to celebrate or recognize the changing of seasons?nope. just smile and realize… “hey, it’s winter/spring/summer/fall…” oh, yeah.. and i change my header graphic ;P

5. What’s your favorite thing to do outside? it has 2 wheels and rhymes with “like”.

this american life

been enjoying the hell outta This American Life. a lot of the work i’m doing during the day resembles data entry, boring laborious work that i can just dig into the archives and hear some amazing stories. thanks to melissa for pointing me there

shooting rubbers at the moon

my god, it’s finally stopped raining! seems like it was going straight for a week there. miserable, because everytime the dog goes outside i gotta either towel him off or hose him down, depending on how filthy/wet he is. jack got to play with his buddy coleman for almost 2 hours last nite, then he took a 2 hour nap so i guess it all evens out.

man, check this little monster out! that kids gonna outgrow his father before he’s 13!

i’m fairly happy not being in a band right now. it really seems like i barely have time to get the things done that i HAVE to do now, nevermind the things i WANT… that’s the catch22 of adulthood, right? i’ve been communicating with a drummer i found in the city paper. sounds like a good guy, tons of experience anyway… now we just need a place to make some noise. anybody have any relatives with some warehouse space in the DC metro area? all i need is a little corner for late night/weekend practices. i gotta start flyering my local area, that perfect elusive practice space has gotta be out there… but first this house has gotta get finished!

happy birthday stephen!

happy birthday dad!

happy birthday rob! (coming up…)

back to work for me!

i’ll make you some play-doh you can’t re-use.

congratulations my brotha! stephen and nadine had their second kid early saturday morning… welcome to the world, ethan! as godparents, kristy and i are sworn to do our duty and spoil the kids rotten. hey, i’m a godfather… that’s really cool.

ick, what a rainy, grey, dreary day it’s been… bright eyes spinnin in the car player seems just right.
