chew shoes

hm, i was going to make a valiant effort to ride in to work a lot this week, but yesterday jack decided that my riding shoes tasted good. he absolutely destroyed one of them, digesting a big hunk of blue leather. that’s going to look interesting when it’s recycled.

guess i’m off to ebay to shop for new riding shoes… jack’s in desperate need of obediance school. he’s definitely going in the fall.

sf2002

back and rested from our trip to san francisco. if someone offered me a job in SF i’d move out there in a heartbeat. it’s like perpetual fall out there, 75 degree days, 50 degree nights. it’s a huge city, we only really got to hang out in the market street, soma and mission districts. very cool tho. if it only had a beach, kristy’d be as down as i am, but it’s a bit chilly for swimming.

take a peep at the pics

i hate to go

i’m audi-out y’all. jack’s starting the 3 day slumberparty at his friend cole’s, bags are packed, leaving on a jet plane and all that. have a good weekend.

SF & things for me

can’t believe i’m going to be in sanFrancisco in 2 days. hectic, whirlwind resembling nothing of a vacation. i think we may have a little downtime during the day saturday, if any of my WC peeps are gonna be around, maybe we can grab a coffee?

finally got my b-day package from the parents via amazon (bastardos) last night, i was super stoked to see the New World Disorder DVD, banned in DC and a PC hookup for my GPS. thanks ma & pa! i watched a bit of the DVD this morning and was stunned. it opens with bender casing it hard offa 55 foot drop. then into Kris Holm doing 10 foot drops and teetering on a 100 foot bridge railing — on a unicycle! geez, good stuff.

drowning, not waving

if you happen to see me on the street today, feel free to punch me in the groin. that’s just how this day’s been going.

friday five

1. Where were you born? almost-heaven, wild, wonderful, west virginia.
2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don’t live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not? moved out when i left for college. zero drive to return. matter of fact, i have a hard time spending more than 3 days there at a time. if not for family and friends, i don’t think i’d ever return.
3. Where in the world do you feel the safest?at home, on the couch, with the wife and dog
4. Do you feel you are well-traveled? i’ve been thru most of the states in the union, my parents had a fondness for roadtrips. i’ve played in seedy clubs and houses all around the midatlantic, that’s a great way to see a city. i’d like to see the U.K., spain, and iceland eventually
5. Where is the most interesting place you’ve been? jeez, that’s a tough question. so many things pop into my mind. kirtans at the giant krsna temple near my parents house. hiking up a steep mountain in new mexico with my dad. playing a show in a mafia restaurant basement in NYC. proposing on the lip of the grand canyon.

about last night…

a birthday party for a dog? man, we’ve reached a new suburban low.

we’re going to see the orioles on saturday. first ball game i’ve been to since living in WV, going to see pirates games at 3 rivers. the DC grand prix is also this weekend. $25 a head is a bit much. i was hoping we’d end up standing trackside in some NE neighborhood. not this grandstand bs.
