just decide for me

okay, here’s my dilemma.

one one hand: 2002 eddie bauer explorer

pros: features. 6 disc changer, dual climate control (passenger/driver get different temps) heated leather seats, message center computer system. same price/miles as XLT version we’re looking at. test drove it yesterday and love it.

cons: was a rental car from april 2002 to jan 2003. interior is pretty dirty, but could be cleaned.

the other hand: 2002 explorer XLT

haven’t test driven this yet, but it’s a one-owner vehicle that’s was repossessed. no real extra features, same miles/price as the eddie bauer above.

pros: not a former rental car. carries carmax 5 day money-back, 30 day warranty. leather seats.

cons: no bells or whistles. i loves me some gadgets.

i’m taking the eddie bauer to my mechanic tomorrow for a once-over. going to carmax after work to see the XLT. at which point we’re going to have to decide between the two and make a purchase monday night. scary, eh?

but…

what the hell is all this white stuff? it was 85 degrees yesterday!

3 good things about things

according to alex, Sigur Ros was on the carson daly show last night. how weird is that? nosing around i found a link to a video they shot for Track One from (). i can’t get it to work, but give it a shot. c’mon do it for the kids. MCA Records: Sigur Ros site

i got an email from some guy named justin steele the other day. dunno how he found me, but his site and photography is abso-freaking-lutely amazing. and i’m not usually one for sports shots. here’s that: justin-steele.com

last and certainly not least, look who got all dressed up and came to the party. welcome back danny boy.

big purchases

getting very serious about buying a car. big purchase. you see, i linked to this Explorer a few days ago as an example of what we are looking for. the more i looked at the truck though, i realized that it’s exactly what we’re looking for. and at a damn good price.

so i plodded through a few online loan applications. my bank wanted to give me %7.6, but only after i proved to them that some loans were in deferrment. screw that. sent out an application to PeopleFirst who came back with a great rate and were very friendly and knowledgable over the phone. i talked to a competitor who couldn’t match their rate and he actually suggested going with the PeopleSoft loan. cool.

getting old has nothing to do with age. this is the kind of stuff that adds years to my brain and body.

2 good things about music

good Cat Power interview over at pitchfork.
…It’s weird to talk about shit like this because it’s something I usually don’t talk about. It’s like when you’re brushing your teeth and then you’re over there on one tooth and you think, “What makes you wanna go over to that tooth?” It’s kind of awkward to talk about, you know?

take a look at the QOTSA “Go With the Flow” video. insane stuff. excellent video. [via:neckdeep]

73 degrees

there’s just something really nice about being able to wear shorts to work.

in search of…

nice weekend, got lots done. washed waxed and prepped the camry for sale. i’m not sure exactly how i’m gonna end up doing it, but i want to sell the camry off and hope to god that a used 2002 estate green explorer with leather happens on the market within a few days. seems improbable, eh? oh well, i can always ride the bus to work on rainy days.

headed into the city to celebrate the birth of one rodeoRob. got to see a bunch of the crew. after seeing ryan’s new toy, (SiPix Blink II), i really want one. super tiny and indestructable. that’d be great for riding. added it to my wishlist (hint, hint).

sunday we took jacko out swimming with jenn and di and their newly adopted boxer, sophie. pix to come on that one. di tried her best to coax sophie out into the deep water but she still wouldn’t swim. maybe once it warms up a bit.

down to ride at vans skatepark last nite. place was nearly empty and i had giant sections of it all to myself. got to practice riding a mountain bike on the 8′ quarter pipes for a bit. good, sweaty stuff.

the new idlewild came out saturday and i gots a copy from alex. it’s all i’ve been spinning since. really, really, really good stuff. i’ll put a review up on ADDreviews later.
