Minor Threat Demo to be Released. very cool. i actually found a bootleg cassette of these demos waaaay back in ‘94. i was on a school trip to nyc and our hotel was host to a record convention… i wandered in and found this bootleg mixtape that had MT demos and a live fugazi concert for $5. typical me fashion, i lost it less than a year later. shoulda made backups.

URBANthursdays in full effect tonite. rumor has that it might be a big ‘ol turnout.

just got back from another trip to the vet. went home at lunch to check on the pupperoo and (insert mock surprise here) he’d chewed off most of his bandage!! so now i HAVE to get some pix of him up here, he’s walking around the house with a sad little expression and a giant blue, flowery inflatable donut around his neck. it’s so sad it’s funny.

i go thru spurts of forgetting how funny slatch is. i shouldn’t let that happen.

just got this in my inbox regarding my old camry i had for sale. doesn’t this sound like it’s related to those nigerian scams?

poor jacko spent today at the vet. accident prone pup, he takes after me i guess. seems he sliced his paw good last nite playing with his buddies outside. tracked blood all over the house. we’re fairly used to him cutting his paws, but not to all the blood. it was still bothering him this morning so kristy took him in. stitches and bandages and spending the next few weeks on a leash. somebody’s not going to be happy…

scheduled weekend. almost hectic, but not quite. saw some of that mighty wind on friday. funny stuff, not as good as best in show, about the same level as waiting for guffman. that’s my review.

as i trued up my crusty old rims for an thursday urban ride i noticed that they were cracked almost all the way through. i’m more surprised that they’ve lasted this long. they’re really not designed for the kind of abuse i dish out. i ended up getting a really good deal from a guy on the rideMonkey board. went out to his place in manassas yesterday and picked up the new hoops. sweet.

hit the giant old dominion dogshow saturday, saw some crazy big mastiffs. one was 200lbs, the other was 235lbs. good stuff.

did i mention that i sold my camry? yea, last sunday. got a pretty good amount for it, about what i’d hoped for.

oh, and i have to talk about nearly getting run over by a carload of indians yesterday. i’m in my mother-in-laws parking lot, double-parked perpendicular to the rows of autos. i hop out to help her into the truck and notice the car right next to me pop into reverse. now i’m thinking that the guy is just indicating to me that he wants to leave and i’ve got 6000lbs of automobile directly blocking his path. then he starts backing up. shit. he’s got about 5 feet to go before he crushes me between his car and my truck so i start punching and slapping his trunk. he stops, finally realizing that there is someone behind him. amazing. if he’d glanced in the mirror for a second, he’d realize that his vision is completely obscured by me and the giant vehicle behind him.

i just can’t even fathom popping a car into reverse and backing up without even a glance behind you. i guess that’s the difference.

he rolled down his window and apologized, but i was in too much shock to be pissed. i just said… ‘you REALLY need to pay more attention.’ simply amazing.

okay, i’m going to go grocery shopping. bye.

these allergies are friggin killing me. worse than i’ve ever had them before. i’ve been dosing up on kristy’s supply of 12-hr allegra and that works great until about 7pm, at which point mi cabesa explodenza. it’s not a pretty sight.

and so i’m sneezing like a gatlin gun. all night long. and did i mention that i managed to bruise my ribs in a bike vs rock standoff last weekend?

bad combo. everytime i feel a sneeze coming on, i stand up, grip my right side, squeeze, sneeze and yell as the daggerlike pain tears thru me.

i’m broken, can somebody come put me back together?
