the ryder files

for future reference, i set up a lil subdomain for all the ryder pix: ryder.blanksky.com. tell your friends.

we’re getting by over here. can’t wait for the little guy to get into a better schedule. i’ve started keeping the video camera in the nursery for a little 5am video diary. figure we can look back at it when he’s a teenager and say… “you owe us.”

won our first actual marketing campaign here at work. buncha collateral for the USDA. i put flames on a cow. hopefully this’ll open up some more doors for us.

the first 2 weeks

it’s definitely been a challenge. i used to say to people “raising a puppy is at least as hard as raising a baby…” man, i was full of crap. i don’t think i’ve undertaken anything quite this hard, frustrating and rewarding. the biggest obstacle so far is reversing the poor kid’s sleep cycles. he’s comatose all day and screaming hungry every hour all night.

my parents have been here all week helping out, but they headed out today. this will be our first weekend doing the parent thing solo. we’ve got lots of awesome friends who’ve volunteered to help out when needed so i figger we’ll be fine.

i’m a dad!!

Ryder Thomas Greeneltch was born on July 11, 2005. He is officially crowned the cutest boy in the universe. more later. this baby stuff is hard work.

waiting for the go

this is how the poor DH bike has sat since the US Open 05/31/05 (the lift ticket is still attached, that’s how i can nail the date). well, it will continue to wait because i’m sticking around the house until i become a dad. kristy’s doing okay, we had our weekly appt today. her biggest problem lately is the ankle/hand swelling. her poor ankles are starting to bruise they’re so swollen. “cankles” she calls them… half calf/half ankle.

in less bloated news… we bought a new car over the weekend. replacing kristy’s econo corolla with a brand new Mazda 6 Sportwagon. yeah, i said SPORTwagon. quite a lot of kick and a fair amount of room. should make carting all the crap that comes along with having a kid these days a bit easier.

i’ve been doing a ton of research into charlotte, nc these days. seems like a nice place to live. water, mountains, jobs, community, cheap… what else is there to ask for?
