I won the MAC series and all I got was this stinkin’ jersey.

Not a plaque, not a single shred of swag. Not even a stupid tire that I don’t need. A little disappointing, as the advertised $5,000 in prizes ended up being a bunch of mediocre stuff that was raffled off during the awards banquet. Not that i’m in this for the prizes, if it were communicated early on that the only prize would be jerseys for the DH series I would be fine with it. There were rumours flying around all year about what the class winners would recieve… a frame was mentioned by several people, i would have been okay with a plaque.

But I do appreciate the jersey. It’s nicely done, but I’m not sure where on earth i could wear it and not be a pompous fool. Will and I both got one, so we plan on doing some riding up in the shed wearing our matching ‘champion’ jerseys and high-fiving a lot.

ryder was the world’s cutest giraffe for halloween. i’m uploading some pix to the gallery shortly. got a bunch of video too. inches away from refinancing the house to consolidate a bunch of debt and get money to redo our kitchen and windows. can’t wait to have a nice kitchen.

diablo was a ball. i can’t believe how fun the r9 is on a real mountain. it’s one of those things that you never know what you’re missing until you ride a bike like that. there’s a coupla quick video clips on the germantown cycles website:
