Snuck out of work an hour early yesterday and headed up to frederick to do some downhill runs. was a perfect day. perfect weather, dry rocks, big crowd of 9 riders of similar skill level, no technicals, an empty cargo van to shuttle (thanks, germantown!)
dunno if can get any better. was the first time i’d been on the downhill bike in at least 4 months but i felt great. really looking forward to the racing season.

items of note for those that i haven’t spoken to recently:

• we’re having another baby in august (a boy)
• kristy is in her 2nd week of full-time mothering
• life is good

The Hype Machine: streaming mp3s from loads of mp3 blogs across the net. a cool cross-section of all the music that people are talking about online.

Last.fm/recommend events (you need a login). takes all the music you listen to and cross references with your location, giving you a list of all upcoming shows that you may be interested in. (last.fm makes a plug in for most desktop music players that feeds everything you listen to into their online database… my profile is over there on the right — >)

Songbird: not only a replacement for the piggy iTunes, but a web-interface and nifty mp3 streamer as well.
