late spring update

okay, i think i’ve finally got enough blog-worthy stuff that i can post. it’s good to binge and purge sometimes. in reverse chronological order; we spent 2 hours in the ER last night with Ryder due to a reaction he had to the pseudoephedrine in some cough syrup. He started getting sick up in Jersey on Saturday with temps between 101 and 103. Kristy took him to the dr yesterday and they suggested this Triaminic stuff. Bad idea. he was good all day, but once bedtime came, he started getting more and more manic. by 1am he was howling this bloodcurdling scream and was inconsolable so we went in to ffx hospital. they told us to wait it out and he’d be fine. hope he gets some sleep today.

so we were up in jersey over mem day for the US Open of Mountain Biking at Diablo Freeride Park. This was my 2nd race of the season and the biggest one all year. i was feeling good and fast all weekend on my new sinister R9. pretty decent turnout this year with 350 ams and 150 pros. i qualified 8th and placed 11th overall amateur. i had just about as fast a run as i could have hoped for, so i’m very happy with that result!

i also wanted to say an early thanks for my early birthday present. my supershopper wife found a great deal on a toy i’ve wanted for a long time, so she got everyone to chip in, and bought me a 60Gb Creative Zen Vision:M. she said it didn’t make any sense to have it sit in the closet till june, so she forked it over early. my music library has just surpassed the 30Gb mark, so it’s great to have a portable player that can hold everything i own in one spot, not to mention load tons of video onto. the ‘best of elmo’ dvd i ripped on there came in very handy at the ER last night. now i’ve just got to see about getting a cheap head unit with an AUX in installed in the xploder for road trips!

lastly, headed to denver in 2 weeks for a work-related ‘Creative Summit’. Myself and 2 of my co-workers are headed out to meet with my boss who lives there. We’ll spend a few days recharging our batteries and figuring out some new ideas and directions we want to take the group. I can’t wait to visit denver again, should be fun.
