so pic #2: this year’s capital cup DH was held at Wisp, MD. I pulled 1st in both DH races and took home the Capital Cup overall. Saturday was pretty tight with 0.3 seconds between me and #2 (arch-nemesis bob brian) and #3 was 0.3 seconds behind him. good racing. Sunday I finished 7 seconds ahead of #2. I would have placed sixth in Pro. i place most of the blame squarely on that new sinister R9. that is one fast bike. i freaking love it.

ryder’s developed an allergy to racing, or perhaps to riding in my truck. he got sick again the first day at wisp. projectile vomit everywhere. so far, we’re 2/2 for him getting sick at races. he was in much better shape by the next day though.

pic #1: spent a coupla days in denver for work. hiked up in breckenridge & estes. hung out downtown and in parker. it is just as nice as i recall. i was amazed at how bike-friendly and outdoors-focused everyone was. during the morning “rush hour” downtown, we saw nearly as many people on bikes as there were cars. very cool. also i got to see more of the suburbs that i’m interested in (parker, highlands ranch, centennial) and visualize the terrain of the areas they’re in. met up with my buddy evan on our final night there to ride with the Denver Cruisers.

Headed out to Snowshoe this weekend to race, might be my last one of the season with baby #2 on the way. wish me luck!
